Sonic and the Egg Rocket

This. Was. A. PAIN. A totally worth it pain, mind you, but a pain nonetheless, as this was about as close to recreating the Egg Rocket Zone background as I could get without using solid lines.

That said, the reason I wanted to draw this place to begin with was that I really like the way it looked back when I first played it.

Between the dark, subdued music, the awesome visuals (by early GBA standards, anyway) of the area leading up to the rocket itself, and the madcap race up through the rocket as it comes apart and rises into space (and this is saying a lot, coming from someone who normally can't stand time limits in video games!), this is one of the most atmospherically impressive levels I've seen in a Sonic game, in my opinion.

Hence, why I see it fitting to use it as my way of honoring Sonic's 23rd anniversary.

So Happy Birthday, Sonic! With any luck, Sonic Boom will be one of the exceptions to the Sonic Cycle, and if not, well I just gave you guys a reason to go play Sonic Advance, right?

Yes, I'm aware that isn't actually the rocket in the background. I couldn't find any evidence of the actual rocket's exterior, so I went with making the tower the rocket instead.
