Unlike the other two, Mega Chesnaught is the only Kalos Starter whose type changes with its Mega Evolution, becoming Grass/Steel instead of Grass/Fighting, and gaining a unique ability, Growing Guard, which like Speed Boost, graudually boosts Mega Chesnaught's Defense stat. This, combined with its already strengthened Defense and Special Defense, make Mega Chesnaught into a wall rivaling that of Shield Form Aegislash!
