Xero-J: 3 Years by Xero-J

...Was the day one Jalen Xero-J Johnson hit the "Become a Deviant!" button on this site, and well, became a deviant.

In those short 3 years, so many things have changed.

That day, I was set to begin my first year of college the month following, and was forced to learn managing my time here, as well as completing my studies. Now I've graduated, and am already looking for a job.

Since then, I've drawn hundreds and hundreds of pictures of varying quality, medium, and subject, and met a great many people in doing so.

I've watched this site grow and slowly, but surely change to make an artist's life easier (and sometimes harder), and I've watched many Groups form and fall.

My own art, my own stories, and my own characters have undergone changes, revisions, and reboots so often, I tend to forget what they first looked like...

I came into this site with little to no idea how anything worked. Now, not only am I able to converse with people online as easily as I can speak to others in real life, but I've even taught and inspired others to become better artists themselves through my work.

I've gone from keeping to myself in and out of dA to forming genuine friendships with fellow artists and thinkers, even branching my name into several social medias I once wanted nothing to do with....

An entire generation of consoles ended and a new one began in the time I've spent on this site.

...But looking at all the things that have changed, I can say for sure one thing that will never change is this:

My dream of becoming an artist that people will remember.

An artist that people will see as someone who inspires them to rise up and do great things themselves.

Someone who helps others when they're down, and is helped in return.

The kind of artist that anyone, from simple dA accounts, to big names like UDON and Dark Horse end up going to when they want something done.

A Paragon of the art world.

That's what I'll keep working to achieve from now until the day I can no longer lift a pencil.
