I'd be lying if I said I didn't put Lego Dimensions on my radar purely to play through the Sonic Level Pack...which is why I count it fortunate that I got it as a birthday gift this year not too long after the Sonic pack's release.
...Naturally, I loved every minute of it, from getting to run/drive/fly around Special Stages, Emerald Coast, and the Sonic World itself, to the references, to just plain having the Sonic minifig to play around with (I still have a Lego Minecraft Set that has been collecting dust at this point).
With any luck, Sega might take a few of the pluses from what Lego Dimensions did (namely the level of continuity references) and incorporate it into the main series, because despite it being part of a completely different game, series, and franchise...this feels like one of the better 3D Sonic games to come out in 2016 (Similar to how you could argue having Sonic in the Subspace Emissary made it a decent 2D Sonic game. A stretch, I know...)
